  1. Sean Reilly and the young man are both alive to the pang they feel in their hearts.

    1. What may be some of the obstacles that come between them and an union.

    2. Choose one of these barriers and write a few lines on the way you would overcome it.



  1. Ask yourself these questions:

    Who is he ?

    From where ?

    Ireland ? Eire ?

    Give your response through the mouth of Sean, or the young man, or an impartial observer.

    For example: Who is he? He is you. He is me. He could be anyone, etc...



  2. Sean and the young man have already hit about on reasons for unity, but these points of similarity could be more profound.

    1. Show some deeper reasons for unity.

    2. Take one of these reasons and develop it.

    3. What is the difference between unity and harmony?


  1. Some say that peace is not the absence of war. Do you think this statement is correct? If so, why ? If not, why not ?
